boys and girls... hmmm...
i've came across blur some time in 1993 or 94... do you guys think they are too edgy to be considered part of the new genre of new wave acts or they're just something else?

i think blur is most of indie-alternative with influence of new wave .. but not really a new wave .. in my opinion new wave is from the year 1979-1988, if not then they are not new wave. hey did you hear/know the band "little nemo" a frence new wave band. ;D

Blur... new wave? Of course not. Got one of their CD's and I regret to have wasted my money. Little Nemo. Just got their 2 CD's Vol1 and Vol2 last week from France. Nice band.

i think to be classified as new wave, the band and their song has to be done in the 80s. even if the band survived all these years...their tune now---wouldsound totally different, you may hear certain rhythms or *evidence* of their roots...but it just doesnt sound new wave.
new wave in my opinion is all about that specific time, that specific tune and melody, attitude and the wacky colors and punk colored hair...its a complete package. i feel you cant be new wave when you record your song 90s or recently, even if you used the same equipment when you were still playing during the 80s...

oily high five for that comment.. for example.. new order band.. their music, sound, rythm not as good as new order before.. maybe because of the more sophisticated music equipments today .. ahh.. what i mean is.. new wave is unparallel.
